Good day!
We are pleased to announce the start of the third season of the Kawa League — a regular online Riichi Mahjong league.
League games are held on the tenhou.net platform, and communication takes place in the League’s Telegram chat: https://t.me/kawaleague
Starting from the third season, the league is switching to a system of three divisions: A, B, and C. After each season, the top players in each division are promoted, and the lowest-ranked players are relegated. New players start in Division C, but if they have a high-rated account on Tenhou or Mahjong Soul, they may start in Division B (5-dan / Ms 3) or Division A (7-dan).
The season consists of three stages:
Stage 1. Main Stage – 8 weeks (32 hanchan)
Stage 2. Semifinal & Additional Matches – 2 weeks (8 hanchan)
Stage 3. Final – 2 weeks (8 hanchan)
Please note: The semifinal and final take place only in Division A.
In the main stage, each player in every division is assigned 8 different tables, with 4 hanchan played at each. To make things convenient for players, table lineups will be revealed gradually throughout the stage.
After the main stage ends, Divisions B and C will have additional matches to determine promotions. For example, if five promotion spots are available, players who finished 4th to 7th after the main stage will play 8 hanchan against each other competing for 4th and 5th place in the season.
Players in Division A who finish in positions 1–8 in the main stage advance to the semifinal. In the semifinal, each player is assigned 2 tables, with 4 hanchan played at each.
The top 4 semifinalists advance to the final. In the final, these 4 players will play 8 hanchan at one table.
All points fully carry over between stages.

Approximate stage dates:
Stage 1: December 8 – February 1
Stage 2: February 2 – February 15
Stage 3: February 16 – March 1
If a major tournament takes place during stages 2 or 3, the organizers may extend these stages at their discretion.

To register, you must:
Have the right to join Division B based on finishing in the top 21-40 in Season 2 of the Kawa League or based on online achievements (see Regulations)
Specify your Tenhou nickname on the page: https://manage.riichimahjong.org/profile/manage
Link your Tenhou nickname to your Telegram account using the bot in the league chat
